Don Lucero-Schultz

Don Lucero's creations appear to emerge out of a deep mist. A native of Albuquerque NM with a degree in business and marketing, he is forging his path in today’s Art World. During his youth he was fortunate to have spent time in the tranquil and meditative countryside's of Greece and Japan. Those years helped infuse and set the foundation which can easily be felt and seen in many of his pieces today.He now lives among the open spaces of desert and mesas in Taylor Ranch, NM, which provides him continuous fresh sources of inspiration.

His work is mysterious, complex and thought provoking. Viewed from a different angle or space, the same piece may take on a totally different realm and feeling. His pieces are incorporated mostly of organic plants, gourds,clay, rice paper and lava rock for the base. His work brings to life images of wonders and mystique. “Some pieces do not reveal where they want to go for several years”, Don says. “The complexity of these pieces are deep and ancient in design and they usually end up being my favorite pieces”.

Don’s work has been on display at the Capitol building during several Legislature Sessions in Santa Fe NM. He is now represented by the Dovetail Gallery in Holualoa, Hawaii and Memories Gallery on the Plaza in Santa Fe,NM.
