My love of fabric, color and texture first inspired my beaded jewelry and other wearable accessories. Unique wearables are such a wonderful way to express your personal style and show it off to the world!
I love the never ending profusion of color in a sleek contemporary piece, and equally adore the vintage feel when using antique kimono silk in a handbag, or incorporating an antique cameo into a special piece of jewelry. Every style offers it's own exciting potential!
I love to teach and encourage students to be bold and courageous when creating their own special pieces of wearable art! There are no rules, and there are no limits to what we can create, first in our imaginations, and then delighting as we watch it unfold in our hands!
I teach in Albuquerque and surrounding areas, and my workshop schedule can be found on my website at, www.freeforminspirations.com
In addition, I write magazine articles on freeform beadwork, and am finally getting back to working on my book, focusing on this technique.
I was a founding member of the Wooden Cow Gallery and Art Space, which opened it's doors to the Albuquerque public in September of 2008. Its 2000 square feet of space oozed energy and life from every corner...We embraced all mediums..showcasing unique and talented local artists and their special creations! Sadly...due to limited number of owners remaining, and none of us able to give the gallery the full time attention it deserved, we closed our doors in the Summer of 2011.
We all gained a lot from the experience, and have great memories of the enjoyment and great art that our artists provided to the public!
